Where a LOVE for LEARNING and PLAY is DEVELOPED

Picture
Our program is based on the philosophy of childhood theorists Jean Piaget and Erik Erikson.  We whole heartedly believe that young children are motivated to learn through their environment; as they play, explore, and discover the world around them.  We commit to providing hands on activities that allow young children to learn from doing.

We use The Creative Curriculum for Family Child Care written by Diane Trister Dodge and Laura J. Colker, to help enhance our monthly themes with daily activities pertinent with each child's unique development.  Our activity centers revolve around Dramatic Play, Blocks, Toys, Art, Sand and Water, Books, Cooking, Music and Movement, and Outdoor Play.

With use of the Creative Curriculum our goals and objectives follow areas of Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Cognitive Development, and Language Development.  We provide opportunities for children to achieve a sense of self, responsibility for self and others, and behaving in a pro-social way by showing empathy and getting along with others by sharing and taking turns.  We address the skills necessary for achieving both fine and gross motor control.  We include topics that allow children to think and process the world around them; topics include literacy, mathematics, science, technology, health and safety, social studies and creative expressions.
